17TH STREET CORRIDOR NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION IS PROUD TO OFFER A WIDE VARITY OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO THE PEOPLE OF OUR COMMUNITY.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROGRAMS

Partnered with Chestnut Health Services to provide life skill sessions for our youth in our local schools, in addition to providing education for those who are in need of prevention and responsive services. For more information, please contact Kenya Logan at logan.kenya@gmail.com.


YOUTH PROGRAMS

YOUTH SUMMER CAMP
Our summer youth camp offers youths ages 5-12 years of age the opportunity to learn life skills, while enjoying the team building process under the care of qualified camp counseors. 17th Street CNA works in conjunction with Belleville AmeriCorp, district 118 and Chestnut Health Systems to meet the needs of our community. We service 220 children in our summer camp.

WHAT OUR SUMMER CAMP PROVIDES:

  • Breakfast and lunch not only to our campers but to our community at large during the summer months for persons 18 years of age and under
  • Our program curriculum is derived from the BASIC Initiative’s 12 Character building principals.  
  • Summer tutoring in Reading and Math
  •  Fun activities, educational workshops, nutrition programs, and excursions.

NEW TO 17TH STREET CNA CAMP 2012:
With the help from our volunteer MEMEBERS, we are introducing career orientated sessions that offer fun, educational and hands on aspects to sciences and art.

  • ART

LIFE SKILLS TRAINING FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS

TUTORING
 Volunteers currently tutor students during the school years every Wednesday at Union School. What is needed to be a tutor with 17th Street CNA?:

  • The desire to help
  • Ability to help and communicate with children
  • PATIENCE!!!!!

WINGS OF HOPE
17th Street CNA partners with Wings of Hope mentoring program offers advice, life skills and tutoring as well as caring, nurturing concern from responsible adults. ADVOCACY
